Kathy E. Gill - Instructor-Course 3a A few links:Twitter - LinkedIn - Blog A few words:Writer, teacher, web jane-of-all-trades, motorcyclist, digital evangelist. I've been working in digital communications since before Netscape was called Mosaic. I began my career in public affairs/public relations with a major Northeastern dairy cooperative (not unlike Darigold). After being #2 in the press office for the Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture, I moved to Washington and continued working in natural resources public affairs. I ran the digital campaign for Jim Waldo's run for governor and thought the web would have an impact on the 1996 presidential election. I didn't know I was an early adopter. I've taught communications to coders and code to communicators since the mid-1990s. Currently I'm part-time at UW and part-time at King County Elections, where I manage the website and Twitter account. Solveig Whittle - Former UWSMC Student, Now Teaching Assistant for UWSMC Courses 1a-3a A few links:Twitter - LinkedIn - Blog A few words:I am a free-ance marketing consultant, blogger, musician and former high-tech product manager and marketer. I am also a K-8 certified teacher, with Middle School endorsements in Math and Science (2011). I am currently studying the music industry and social media, and am a guest blogger for the music marketing site Hypebot. I write, perform and record my own music with my partner in our home studio. I have three children, the oldest of whom is a junior at UW and the youngest of whom is a fourth grader. My most recent volunteer projects were with the Women in Innovation Summit and Northwest Natural Resources Group. I started in the UWSMC program in January of 2012 and received my certificate in the fall of 2012. I have been the Teaching Assistant in the program since January 2013.
